Default Synchros? Tranny?

Hey guy...

I was doin a couple runs with my friend the other night and from a 4->5 shift it felt like i put the car in the wrong gear and i saw my tach flashing....so i assumed i mechanically overrevved...but today going from a 1->2 shift at around 7500 rpms the same thing happened. There is no way i put the car into 4th....i kno i shouldnt be driving aggresively after that 4->5 shift but i wanted to see if my car was running properly....and obviously it isnt...

my question is...it doesnt seem like a mechanical ovverev after that 1-2 shift...so what can it be? Can it be my synchros? or can it be my tranny?? ANY insight on this situation would help greatly...i made an appt. with billman but until then i want to diagnose this problem..i think it will help with my inspection too...thank you!

Syncros or trans will not cause a driveabilty issue.

What are the exact symptoms?

alright so i went from a 1 to 2 shift...near redline. and the gears felt REALLY notchy like it wouldnt budge.. when i let the clutch out..i hear some kind of noise and my rpms shoot up and my tach was flashing....at that point i depressed the clutch..kind of sounded like an ovverev....but i was going from 1-2 so it doesnt make sense...maybe the tach was flashing cuz the clutch didnt grab and i was just flooring it in neutral?

im trying to recall everything but it just happened so quickly. There was definetely a grinding type noise followed by my engine roaring up followed by a flashing tach...exactly how it sounds when u ovverev..but im 10000% sure it couldnt be an ovverev....how do u overrev 1-2? The thing i noticed the most was the synchros...something in my gearbox seemed out of place...like it wasnt matched up or something....

Your clutch is definatly going...
You probably have about 2 months left on it if you stay real soft on it.
As it wears more you won't even be able to hit VTEC without it just shooting straight to redline

I do know AP2's take a complete different driving style than the AP1 due to the heavy flywheel.

I just put a clutch in an 05 with less than 30k.
