Default TBI heated manifold mod question

I know this has been gone over many times over that everyything needs to be re-routed with a fuel hose... or use the hondata gasket... However cold climates do not have that option as we need our warming effects durring certain days of the year, but not all yera round! However as in the picture here showing the colling/warming flow... Why rerout? Correct me if I am wrong here. Why not just ccamp the hose all together, or put a stopcock in there? THis way to turn it on is either removing a clamp, or turning a valve. Clamping any place on this line would stop the flow through the throtle body and manifold, correct? If I'm wrong please correct me. All comments on the subject are welcomed

Thank you.
