Default Tear Aid A or B?

I cant figure out to use Tear Aid type B or A? I think our soft top is vinyl but someone said to use A inside and B outside. why two types if it;s the same material?

You'll want to use type B on the outside. I've never used it on the inside, but most of the AL crew have had no luck with it sticking on the inside with the folding top.

If you have a crack or hole, patch it from the inside and use Type A.It worked well for me.

I didn't want to put Tear Aid on both the outside and inside so I was just going to do it on the inside. Do a lot of people have issues with it falling off?

Does Tear Aid just stick on or do you need a heat iron or something?

I've used it on the outside only. It's not pretty, but it works. All you need to do is clean the area you're going to apply to and install. It's pretty cheap so you can try it on the inside. It may work, but I've never used it inside.

i have the tear aid patch on the inside and i used the type b. its been there for months now and is holding up great. just make sure to well beyond the tear.for example, i went beyond the bar as well, which is what causes the tear in most our cases.

I tried Type B on the inside and outside on my 2004 and it only held for a couple of days. I waited the recommended 48 hour "curing time", but even so, the edges began to peel immediately after the first use. By about the 5th time I put the top down, the patch had squinched away completely. IMO the top feels like fabric or canvas, and doesn't really seem like vinyl. So I'm trying Type A next.

Has anyone had luck patching a part of the top that's near a fold? I could believe the patch would have held a lot longer if the tear weren't right at a spot that creases. I'll post back with the results of the Type A patch.
