I found this thread on the Teins for the IS300. I didn't think they would have this type of complaints with it (rattling noise), and some owners said that the rattling was NORMAL

Rattling sound is NOT a normal sound produced by the suspension.

Mingster-

Rattling is normal for TEIN suspension with the spherical bearing upper mounts- especially after a year of use. This is why I don't usually recommend the upper mounts for street driven cars- they wear out too fast and don't give the end user good value for the performance, although they do tighten up the suspension settings considerably.

Yes, I have heard that pillow ball mounts are too extreme for daily driven cars and they wear out and get noisy. For example, H&R makes two different coilover setups for Porsches. A street version and a track version that features among other things pillow ball mounts.

Tein requires you use the pillowball mounts for all S2000 applications.
