Thumbs up Thermostat cover

Can someone please tell me whether the thermostat cover is made out of plastic or aluminum? Thanks in advance!

You want to know what the cover of the T-Stat is on the block? Metal. It is cast AL.

Yes, that is what I am asking. The reason I ask the question is I may decide to have custom steel-braided upper/low radiator hoses made. In order for me to be able to use the real anodized couplings, the thermostat cover needs to be metal.

My wife has a Civic with a K20A2 in it. I had custom s/b upper/lower radiator hoses made for it. The upper hose worked fine, but the thermostat cover on the K20A2 is plastic, so the coupling on the lower radiator hose wouldn't work.

Before I invest some money in these custom hoses, I want to ensure the thermostat cover is metal.

Aluminium,

I converted mine to textile braided lines. The stainless lines tend to saw their way through things they touch, and they are heavy. I think I used dash 16 hoses and fittings with aluminum weld on.

The radiator may be your problem as from memory the are plastic fittings.

Do you have any pics? Sounds interesting. I know that I will need an aftermarket radiator when I go to do this; that brings up the question as to which one to get.
