Thank you "2poor2mod", I'll ask the mechanic tomorow morning about that rear axle nut... Hopefully its only that.
Also, thank you, "iDomN8U", i'v put the cover back on this morning and it'll never be touched again. A question though my friend?... Cold air intake, seriously, is it really going to make a difference? even if i get 10hp more, i sacrifise more petrol n here in Aus petrol prices have hit $1.55per litre!!! I mean how much power do u really want when you can only do 60km in a 60 zone (if u catch my drift), lol.
Thank you "Nickamsweet", i have searched far and wide for those answers but coz s2000 are relatively cheap in the states even for a newer model, not many have the earlier ones. i picked up my '99 for $31,000. and its still the cheapest in perth WA!!
Further more, thank you "unscathed", i agree to wat u say; however, the hassle of doing all that you said isnt really worth the $200aud i can spend to replace it. Do u think a "Hi-Flow Sport Cat" is worth buying???
Thank you all again for the replies; After the problems go away, I'll definitely put the answers back on the forums for everyone to see
CAI doesn't make a difference in HP, the stock one is pretty well built. BUT the sound it makes is very nice and you actually get better gas mileage (atleast that's my observation)

Also check out the Australian forums on this site. We have a few members over your side of the country.

I second the axle nut re-torque/stake, as opposed to driveshaft spline.
I'm pretty sure we have posted about how to do this (inc pictures) in the Aus forums.

OK... I got my car back and it's time to start off with a negative feedback toward Honda North in Os Park - Dealership.

Before that, thanks guys for all the help and support, it's all fixed and ready to get major mods done in the next week or so. the verdict is that the "inner CV joints in the driveshaft" had very little grease on it and even if i let it run its course for 10 years nothing major wuda happened to the car or the way it drove.

$435aud for an a apparent 3.6 hour job and guess what they said!... " we did the right-hand side and found the problem to be there." "If you want to look at the left-hand side driveshaft (s2000's have two of them), it'll cost you exactly double."
So, in other words... it took them 3.6 hours, to test drive it, hoist it up, take the driveshaft out, inspect it, re-grease it, put it back together and take it off the hoist 3.6 hours and they'd charge the same price for the other one even though the car is already hoisted up and already taken for a test drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :?: :?: :?: :?:
WAT THE ****!!! Oh, on the day i got there, the indian prick there goes; "servicing; u NEED the FEO oil in that honda or you may cause serious damage"... BULLSHIT! i went straight to the mechanics themselves and they told me to tell that fagot to get ****ed immediately... I just got it serviced 1,500km ago with 5w40 and mechanics said that later on in the s2000's life they DO recommend the FEO oil but now full synthetic is well enough.
Goddamn i hate dealerships. I said to them that in one hour at work (i work at telstra - the biggest telecommunications company in australia!!), i can disconnect all there phone systems, charge them up to $50,000 in calls they never made and disconnect EVERY MOBILE AND LANDLINE THEY HAVE EVER CALLED FROM ONE YEAR BACK AND I'LL LEAVE NO FOOTPRINTS!!! I told that scumbag its hard enough for a person like me to find a mechanic thats honest... dont sell me shit i dont need. they all think im daddy's boy or some shit!!!

Now, hi-flow cat however is recommended as taking the cat out is $600 fine and the stench from the exhaust creeps into the cabin QUITE regularly and i dont want that... i dont wanna remain single for the rest of my life
Oh, surprise surprise... no adjustable coilovers, no king springs I'M PUTTING IN AIRBAG SUSPENSION :!: :!: :!: :!:
Anyone here know where i can get them from?????????

if you are getting a new cat, just get a test pipe, and if the cops look for cats or if you have to get inspected or something, take the heat shield and put it on the testpipe that way it looks like the oem cat. tricks em every time

Why not put airbag suspension??? Seriously, if you guys on the forums tell me to do something, i do it hey.
i saw airbags on this s2000 on youtube and it was nuts.

"Skatethesea" - Is the test pipe going to make the exhaust smell... Heat pipe or not dude; aren't the cops going to smell the fumes and notice??

The S2000 cat is metal core, not ceramic. If its rattling its either the cover is loose or a piece of something else (like the tip of a broken 02 sensor).

Its also nearly impossible to gut a metal cat, you have to actually machine through the metal - don't try it.

as far as the car goes i have a test pipe with the heat shield from my cat. all you have to do is put some spacers on it so it wont rattle. i will look like you have a cat.

My CAT started rattling at 3000 rpm just over 80K miles. What I discovered when I took it off was the rear bed had broken loose from the case and was shifting around inside. That's what was causing the rattle. I drilled 3 holes in the case 120 degree apart, then threaded them. Then screwed 3/4" machine screws into the threaded holes. The screws hold the bed in place and the rattling has stopped.
