Default thick wiring obstructing battery baseplate

Hello, my car didn't have a battery baseplate previously, and when i took out the battery and went to install one now, i found this thick, very wiring that doesn't have enough stretch to get out of the way of battery baseplate, hence why the battery was just on top of it. Is this OEM? how do i pull this out of the way? photos attached

The battery tray goes above those wires. It should have a plastic liner on the bottom.

yeah, you're missing the metal support that the plastic thingy sits on. You'll need some bolts to hold the metal support to the chassis. You'll need the battery tie down hooks, bolts and cross battery support.

Part Nr. 17
https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-..._bulkhead.html
and Nr. 4
https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-...l/battery.html

are missing. If you look closely, you could see "Prints" where nr. 17 was bolted on. The Previous owner was a little bit... ...careless?

yea no i have both those parts. the thing is, the thick wiring is lying OVER the screw holes for the baseplate, and doesn’t have enough budge to clear them. that’s my problem. but you’re saying just yank it harder, because it has to fit?

here, i have all the parts. but as you can see in the picture, the wire is above the third whole, and it’s mounted right next to it, so the hard loom makes it impossible to twist it out of the way.

can’t move it further out of the way, barely clears hole, baseplate doesn’t fit

The wiring must have been redone. I can see it under the battery tray in my car. The battery should not be sitting on the wiring.

yea it must be right? but i thought there’s no way its aftermarket, what do you need such a thick loom of wiring for? do you have any ideas on how can route it around? do you know where that thick loom goes in the stock car? it should still end up in the hole leading to the left door.

You probably need to remove the wiring stays and reposition them to allow the battery tray to fit. That's how I'd approach the problem. Try not to break the stays, as they look OEM and may be hard to replace.

Good luck!

The full story may help.

Did you buy a car that was wire tucked? fuse box moved?

What year is your car? I may have some time to shoot a photo of mine to at least demonstrate the correct routing, if you feel that will help you
