Default Think I blew the dif

I did a semi strong launch. Car made it up to about 40kmh.then grinding in the rear. All the gears seem fine but if I go over 3kmh the rear starts grinding. How can I go over to see what's broken? I'll probably end up going to a shop. I guess I'll look for a stronger different also.

You can jack up the rear and spin the wheels by hand in neutral and see if you feel or hear anything odd about the drivetrain. You can also dump the fluid and see if any metal parts come out of the diff.

What fluid were you running ? It doesn't sound good though.

so i lifted the back up. both wheels turn ok. i started the car and got it up to 20kmh and there was no noise with the wheels off the ground.

in first gear it was fine. then i went to second gear and it eventually made a noise. then third no noise. hmmm I'll check fluid.

I'm starting to think it's not diff also, but I'll check it out at a shop soon. There was nothing on the diff drain plug in terms of particles or metal.

Lifted up it can go up to a a few speeds. But normally it just grinds.

0:17 the sound after shifting to 2nd, and 0:28 after going into third.

Do you have grinding whether the car is going straight ahead or turning one direction or the other?

Just straight. Can't really try to turn in any direction right now.

That is the ONLY way the car should be towed. Be happy for that!
