For those with SPEC clutches....
Hi all,
Over in the FI forum, we have a thread going concerning clutch buzz experienced by some of us with SPEC Stage 2 (or 2+) clutches. A member of SPEC is participating in the thread.
Any of you out there running ANY SPEC clutch, I'd greatlly appreciate if you could chime in with your experience. Please post what year S2000 (AP1/AP2), what flywheel (with weight if you know), what SPEC clutch model, how many miles on it, any other drivetrain mods, and so on.

Please post in the thread I linked to, NOT in this one!

I don't check in often and it seems this site is way too big to occasionally pop in on to see what is going on in the community. However, yep - I have had SPEC clutch noises. I sent in an earlier post and checked on it for about a week to see any other posts and now it seems to be no where on the site...I run an 05 S2K, bought new, have a Vortech SC professionally installed with SPEC stage 2+ clutch, LW pressure plate option and a SPEC lightened flywheel. All has been installed by either a trans shop or the Honda technician.
The noise comes from inside the bell housing (observed at the Honda shop on their lift) with the engine turning the wheels and in-gear around 2 to 3.5K RPM's press in the cluch and the noise goes away. Even if the engine is revved into this same range. Either it is overcome by the Tanabe's at higher RPM or it fades on its own. If I drive it mellow - I hear the noise - If I run it up it never seems to surface...This never happend with the stock clutch and steel Flywheel. I will live with it but I will never buy a SPEC clutch again. They support their product well but thats a moot point if it doesnt work properly..
