Default Those With Toda Header...

im just writing this post to make sure....
i was underneathe my car when it was on to see if there were any problems (exhaust leak, strange noises) and i noticed a lot of noise coming from the toda header..... it sounded like a rush of air with sand going through the header.....either ticking of valves to make the sand sound or even the combustion noises?
im pretty sure its normal right due to the thin wall construction

Headers do have a distinct sound.

The thinner tubes do resonate much more than the stock header. The second 02 sensor plug does have a habit of loosening up, and falling out though. when the plug is loose it makes a louder rattling sound, just before it falls out and sounds like a tractor.

Definately put some thread lock on the plug or it will sound like a Harley when it falls off.

I just put my Toda Header on and noticed a distinct difference. I can hear the valves much more than ever before.

I've heard that thread lock isn't recommended to be used on O2 threads as it may damage them.

When you guys say that you can hear the valves, how much difference do you notice? Does it change w/ temperature? After I installed my header, I noticed what seemed to be a tick/flutter sound at about 1200 RPM. I didn't think much of it at the time, but after the autocross this weekend, I heard some severe ticking and it sounded really bad. So bad, in fact, that I let the car cool down and actually pulled the valve cover off to check the camshafts and valve clearances. Everything was normal, so I buttoned it back up and started it up again... once I started it back up, it was as quiet as before, with only the little tick/flutter at 1200 RPMs. Even after the 90 mile drive back home, everything was relatively quiet. It was just really loud right after my 4th run at the autocross.

(Keep in mind I have Toda camshafts, too... and I'm not sure if that would contribute to any noise, etc).

The resonance that I've noticed was in the 3000-4000rpm range. My car hasn't ever been considered quiet with the header and SC though.
