Try replacing your oil. Mine does this when the oil has been in there near 3k miles. I change the oil and the noise goes away.
This only masking an underlying issue. Instead of putting a Band-Aid on it, find out what it really is and fix it.

ok.. lets assume it IS the TCT.. will driving on it cause it to break and wreck my motor?
The chain is pretty tough. Not likely it's going to break. More likely that it will get so sloppy that the valve timing will go off - loss of power, burnt valves.

Listen to xviper b4 me... he is light years more knowledgable than I am about our cars... still though, i would look in replacing that 1st since its relatively cheap and couldnt hurt anyway b/c they are notorious 4 going bad and causing that annoying tick,tick,tick... like i said mine does not make that noise anymore...

Search for the how-to (it may even be in the FAQs by now). The part number was in the thread, IIRC.

Come to think of it..

When i replaced my VTEC solenoid, i took out the tensioner not knowing it was and put it back in.. could I of hit it and knocked it off? It didnt make any noise for a couple hundred miles after that, then the noise started happening..

BINGO! When a tensioner is removed, it must be "locked" using some kind of set bolt. Just before putting back in, you must ensure that the tensioner is "loaded" and the set pin (or bolt) is in place. When the tensioner is inserted into its position and bolted down, the pin is pulled. When you took it off, it unloaded itself and you put it back in unloaded. This is a very simplistic description of what must be done. The Helm manual is more eloquent.

Do you think i should just buy a new one anyway?

Also, Im not getting the concept of the setpin. Does it come with the new one? In the other thread, He showed a pic of the new one and its totally retracted.

One more thing, I should probably stop driving it, right?
