Default Tires rubbing

recently bought 2007 s2000, salvage title. (I love this car) Laguna Blue Pearl. Car sits 1 inch lower than normal, not sure why, but think it might be why tires are rubbing in the back. Not sure if I should try new shocks first or what. My husband is trying to find some more info on the subject. I autocross the car about once a month. Any Ideas?

Are the wheels oem? Do they have spacers? What size tires?

If it's sitting low, check for aftermarket springs or coilovers, but as above the tire/wheel specs and alignment will help explain rubbing if everything is in functioning properly and nothing is bent frame/body-wise. Did the previous owner indicate what made it a salvage title?

I ride about 1" lower than stock, with stock wheels, and 225/255 RE-11As. I autocross regularly and have only rubbed once on a really sharp turn and never during street driving.

The only thing that would really cause you to rub would be wider wheels/tires or spacer

With stock wheels and rubber there should be no rubbing with a 1" drop. Have you had the alignment checked? Were you able to determine what spring/shocks you are running?

That still does not make sense. Where is it rubbing? Quarter? Rear bumper? Someplace inside?
