Default TODA Header + Strait Pipe combo, ??????

Fella's I need help again My Toda Header just came in today, so excited to install this mod!, but Iam alil anxious to do a strait pipe replacing my CAT. Would this do any harm to my engine or any harm to my header in the long run? I've been told by a muffler shop that by removing the CAT and replacing it with a strait pipe will and can cause damage in the near future. Since I don't really know much about exhaust systems, Iam asking for some advice. Also Iam planing to keep my OEM Looks +OEM muffler- but upgrade my exhaust piping to a 1/4 inch bigger piping for better flow. Does this sound stupid? IF you guys ask me Y not just do a single or aftermarket exhaust set up is because I don't want to wake up my neighbors and I don't want the car any louder . ( Iam not cheap) ..... So what do you guys think I should do?

BTW: these are the mods that are going to be on order:

4.57 gears

Intake ( need to decide which to go with ) any opinion will be helpful

Toda Cams ( spec 2) opinion needed as well? or

Congrats on the Toda. It's a new piece and although it won't give you much in terms of gains, you will lose some weight. I have one myself. In case you are interested, here is my DIY install:

You do know that removing the cat will give you a Check Engine Light, right? You'll need an electronic device to fool the ECU. Do a search to find this. I can't recall where to get this. Removing the cat shouldn't harm the engine unless you don't fool the computer correctly.
Increasing the diameter of the piping won't help much as the stock exhaust works really well already. The only benefit might be to lighten it up as the stock unit is very heavy.

The gears will be your most noticeable gain and the biggest bang for the buck.

Increasing the diameter of the exhaust would probably reduce power, especially if you leave the stock mufflers in place. If the exhaust travels through different diameters of piping, the exhaust has to speed up or slow down for each diameter change.

I have the Toda header and Speed TP combo.
The only thing a TP will damage is your nostrils

i know by removing the cat , the car will be louder, but!!! Iam not doing a Catback exhaust set up , so I know no matter what I still have the stock muffler and that shouldn't be as loud, but I think I got the point .... and again thanks guys for the info!

The oem exhaust is designed with very specific resonant charactersitics I wouldnt mess with the piping at all. This seems like a risky thing to attempt and expect to gain any power, you maybe more likely to loose power.

If you want a quiet exhaust the Mugen exhaust is known to be very quiet and the Comptech exhaust is supposed to be pretty quiet and has an optional silencer that will reduce output ~4dB.
