2 days is not an easy install and even with the right tools it's not an easy install. My mechanic said it wasn't easy and he has built some of the fastest imports on the east coast.

To take out springs, the proper way to do it, don't you got to take off the head?

If you just take out the retainer and springs out, the valve keepers will be off too, the the valves will drop and land on
the piston, is it not?

I think that is how it is 'cuz I always take off the head on
my B-series in order to do vavletrain work (vavle/springs/retainers)

You are correct.............though there are special tools to do this work! Though g-s2k was not blessed with these tools. So a bit of american inginuity(sp) and some non-fiberous rope fed it into the cylinder raised the piston to push the rope into the top of the cylinder thus keeping the valves from dropping in! Can we say HOLY COW!!!

Not a recomended way of doing such a job! Though it got the job done!

I thought that each cylinder could be pressurized to hold the valves in place. The combustion chamber will hold > 200 PSI, which would be a LOT of force holding them.

You would only have to replace the exhaust valve springs with new intake springs, and leave the OEM intake springs alone, right?

You only need to replace all the springs if you are using aftermarket performance springs like Toda. Otherwise just replace the eight on the exhaust side with OEM Honda intake springs. Glen thanks for jumping in, would you consider the install easy? I think that it's a little more then that. Sure it's easier with the right tools but I don't think that easy would be correct. Changing the exhaust, intake on the car is easy. As far as bolt on parts go this is higher up on the spectrum.

Does Todo (j.k.) sell better springs? Are they better than going with oem intake springs all the way around? I'm thinking about doing that to mine and I'm trying to figure out the best and cheapest way to do it. Anybody know where to get the Toda stuff? BTW, 15rwhp seems awfully lot from just a cam. I would imagine closer to 8-9. Has anybody heard about Toda making headers for our car?
