Default Top down with no parking break?

A member posted a method to rig the soft top system so that you could drop the top or put the top without having the parking break up. I tried searching around for this but couldnt find it. Does anyone remember this?

I think you're confusing this with the convertible speed sensor mod.

there are 2 conditions to put the top down.

A. the car is at a dead stop.

B. the parking brake is on at least one "tick".

You can solve A by cutting the speed sensor for the convertible top, but the other one would be quite difficult to my knowledge. Most just cut the wire, and then when they want to put the top down, the click the Ebrake one click, as this does not actually engage any braking.

Also try spelling "brake" correctly for your search.

Wisconsin S2k, you rock sir! Now I just gotta find out which wire to cut. If its just one wire then my problems are solved!
BTW, did you know that Ryan now has a personal trainer? Yeah it was news to me. Also, congratz on the home.

arush19, its nice to know that the spelling police are making s2ki a better place one post at a time.

It sometimes takes two "tick"s.

And Monk, WTF? He's perfectly correct that if you want to get any answers from search, it almost always helps to spell your search terms correctly. You do understand how search engines work, right?

You simply need the "parking brake" light on the dash to be on. One click should work two might be getting close to actually putting pressure on the rear pads.

I had the S out yesterday and storms were isolated. I got caught in traffic on 285 right under some dark clouds...had to do an emergency e-brake and put the top up 'cause rain drops were coming down.

Thank you Captain Obvious

Good luck with the mod Drunken_Monk. And so what if I have a personal trainer?

you ground out the wire to the ebrake handle to bypass it...no clicks. still have to cut the VSS wire. and then with the ebrake wire grounded, your brake light will always be on.
