Top rattles
My right side soft top laich rattles is there any way to stop it or adjust it so the ratel gos away. This is on a 05, so i could bring it to the dealer but rather fix my self thanks for any help
you could try retightening the latch. just unscrew the sun visor and pry the plastic piece off. it doesn't have to completely be removed. tighten the screws. if that doesn't do anything, you should take it to the dealer.
1. That is spelled "rattle".
2. Try the idea above
3. Try slipping a piece of aquarium tubing over the little finger that grabs the striker plate. It is a cheap temporary fix.
4. Replace your strikers with a set from HardTopGuy. They are thicker than the original ones and help tighten up the seal quite a bit. Helps reduce wind noise as well.
I have done all the above to my car during my ownership and the new strikers work the best.

This is a ghetto fix, but it worked great and took about 5 seconds.
Take a napkin (I used a Starbucks one)
Fold it up several times until it's a little small, folder roll.
Drop the latch down on the passenger side
Wedge the napkin between the hook and where it catches when you snap the latch back down
Snap the latch back on.
Rattle fixed.

Okay, a more 'non ghetto rig' type of setup would be putting a small piece of rubber around the hook, so that when the hook meets the frame hole/support, it won't be metal on metal, but have a rubber buffer in between. I may do that later.
