Post Torx bits

Just bought some torx bits from Sears and the T25 doesn't fit the torx screw behind the headlight assembly. Did I miss something? Is there another type or set I should have purchased ?

I know you can take the screw off with a pair of pliers but I'm old school. Just have to do it the right way.

Thanks

Describe the screw you're trying to remove. Does it look like a regular torx screw but instead has something sticking out from the center? In that case you need a tamper-proof torx bit. Looks like a regular torx bit but has a hole in which that thing sticking out can go into.

A RL friend referred me to a big-a$$ed set of "weird" bits that included the tamper-proof Torx, Posidrive, square, and things whose name I don't even know. Here's a writeup: http://www.griotsgarage.com/search.jsp?searchtext=49140 (Sorry it links to a commercial site, but I have not seen it anywhere else, and I have no connection to this--or any other--vendor.)

It seems like a good deal at the price (US$20), if you need this kind of thing regularly.

looks like a regular screw with a star pattern in the center. The screw I'm speaking of is the one that covers the HID bulbs.

Thanks

That's a NICE set! For $20.00 it's a steal.

you can also try and use a screw driver, if you can find one that will fit. i have used that in times where i didnt have a torx bit.

Thanks for the replies as its appreciated. I'd like to get the right tools though and want to avoid taking the bumper off. I'd like to come in from under the hood.

I just checked the helms. It say's you need a tamper-proof T25. It has a hole in the center of the bit.
