So it loses alignment? Sounds like the caster adjuster is slipping.

get it aligned, spray paint all align bolts..then you can see which one is slipping and why

Don't underestimate people. I recall reading a post where someone ended up with both on one side or the other.

Unless you bash a curb or pothole, or completely wear out a component, your alignment should stick for good.

Put it on the machine, post its current alignment as SpitfireS stated. It shouldnt be hard to figure out what the problem is.

Once I convinced the dealership to fully torque the alignment bolts the adjustments hold... before that I would need an adjustment after every track day with just heavy loads (no off tack excursions).

I've had a bit of a problem with my front end holding proper camber. Twice now after a few track days I end up with one tire at about 0.5 neg camber and one at 1.5 neg camber. What do you mean by "fully torque the alignment bolts the adjustments hold"?

There is a torque specification for each bolt and it should be at least that tight. Too many techs snug bolts with a little wrench and it simply won't hold under track conditions.

I realized this issue when installing a new set of wheels/tires. But when I had a new alignment done, my front caster and my rear toe were both off significantly from side to side. My front caster was 7.x on the right and 4.x on the left, and my rear toe was like 0.09 left and 0.21 right. Now with a fresh alignment to correct this, the car drives much better.

Also note that with my old crappy alignment settings, the tracking effect could be felt with wheel/tire set A installed, but not with wheel/tire set B installed. Very strange to me, but obviously the tires and wheel setup made a difference in the feel, despite the alignment being the root cause.

Just took it to the shop last week; put it on the alignment machine, it was a hair out of alignment on all specs (0.01 or 0.1 of difference),the tech put it back to spec, but no difference. The shop decided to double check the suspension, but found nothing wrong (again). They drove it, and gave me back the car saying that they could not replicate it.

I posted before that it was loosing the alignment, but we re-verified with the different alignmetn spec sheets that it was minimal (0.1 difference at the most)so, false alarm on that.

The issue is very intermittent, and while the car always feels -loose-light-, it deffiently goes away when it sits for a week without driving. Also, its more pronounced going downhill, and to my surprise is less noticeable during heavy raining.

I posted on the San Diego forums for a shop recommendation before I take it to the dealer (again!), this problem is turning out to be a PITA

Thanks for all your help guys!

where have you been going for alignment, maybe try another place and another set of rims/tires. It goes away when raining leads me to believe it is something to do with road contact, grip. Also what do the members think about it going away when the car sits, is it a mental thing or what? or something related to the EPS, differential action, etc? brake caliper sticking?
