Default TRANNY & DIFFERENTIAL FLUID?

I am going to change out my tranny and diff. fluid today or tommorrow and I was wondering if there are any better products out there that might be better than Honda's?

I think you'll find most people on the boards will tell you to use nothing but the Honda stuff.

Personally, I'm using RedLine MT-90 in the tranny, and the LE 607 in the diff.

Personally, I love the combo. No complaints yet, and I just did the change about 1,000 miles ago.

Take some time and read through the oil journals sticky. There's a wealth of information found here!

I like GM Synchromesh FM for the tranny, and LE607 for the diff

Honda MTF in the Tranny

You won't find a "Honda OEM diff fluid" at your local honda dealership. I use Mobil 1 75w90 in my diff

When it comes to S2000 rear diff fluid, there is NO "Honda stuff", at least not in their car division.

A local HONDA dealer uses 80w90 , part # ca66928. It comes in a Honda 1 liter container.Another dealer sold me the wrong stuff used for the CRV.

Redline MTF for the tranny.........Mobil1 75w90 for the diff.

I've tried a number of different fluids while maintaining this car. I've settled on these choices for availability (over-the-counter) and wear characteristics (service intervals and shavings/filings).

I go by the "severe schedule" in the owners manual since I'm leary of the longer interval periods and don't like how the tranny gets notchy. Fresh fluid always feels nice and don't cost much to DIY.

Are you sure this isn't something that they put into transmissions? A 80W90 "gear oil" would be about the same viscosity as a 10W30 motor oil, which is similar to what goes into the tranny. If you have this in your rear diff, you better double check. It should be rated GL-5 and stink like crazy of rotten eggs if it's the right stuff for the diff.
