Default Tranny noise question

I recently purchased my first S2K, a 2000 w/22k miles. I haven't had the opportunity to drive any other S2Ks and wanted to know if a noise I keep hearing is standard. When I accelerate, and then let off of the gas, regardless of gear, I hear a loud resonating sound coming from the tranny area. If I give it a little gas the sound goes away, and the sound is louder in the lower gears. Just wondering if this is common on S2Ks or if I should have it checked out. Thanks for the help.

This apparently related to the springs in the clutch disk. Do a search for TSB-054 (or maybe 055). It's quite common and apparently harmless though irritating.

If it's the clutch springs, the buzz will be between 4,000 rpm and 3,000 rpm.

If this the common clutch buzz, the dealer will fix it under warranty.

My dealership says it's normal. It's not all that bad in my car... It got a lot quieter after today's transmission oil change.

It's most likely as stated above the TSB regarding the "friction plate" in the clutch assembly. And Sunder... if the dealership you went to says it's normal which mine did as well at first, I would recommend taking it to another dealership for a second opinion.

TSB 054... they'll fix it under warranty, but the noise may come back after a few thousand miles, if they don't put on the correct disk.

Is it just the friction plate that needs replcing for this TSB? Is there any other work that should be done at the same time not necessarily related to the fix just convenient when the tranny is out?
Ive read that maybe the flywheel should be resurfaced is this correct or only for aftermarket clutches?

Is the throw out bearing part of the TSB? I spoke to my dealer and he said that it wasnt and then quoted me aud$308 and $581 for the pp.

The flywheel had no heat spots so no need there.

Thanks for the advice on the clutch fluid Ill question them on that when I call next.
