Post TRANS/DIFFERENTIAL PUMPS

Friends,

As a home mechanic I like to change the S2000 fluids myself. Does anyone have a recommendation on what pump to use to refill the transmission and differential. Keep in mind that the car is in my garage up on jack stands and working space under the car is limited.

I have been looking at the Girots Siphon Pump. Does anyone have any experience with this or can make a better suggestion.

Thanks.

I use a clear hose, about 3/8" ID, 14" long, and put right on the pointed gear oil bottle. Squeeze it in the dif.

I then put the pointed gear oil cap on the MTF bottle, and squeeze it directly into the trans with no hose.

I'd have the dif and trans done before you even get any messy pump out of the box.

no cleanup, zero mess, no contamination, ultra fast. And very easy

I just got a pump from Wal-Mart for like $8. It was very easy to do and didnt make a mess either.

I don't use a pump at all, it just makes it harder. I have a long piece of 1/2" ID tubing. You can just snake it down to the tran or diff, stick a funnel in the top, and pour in the lube. If it goes too slow in the cold just warm the bottle first under some hot water.

I bought a couple of 1 liter squeeze bottles that you use to water plants. They are clear plastic bottles and sealed with a tube. they were $1.50 each at a bargain shop. worked like a charm.

I returned that unused $20 siphon pump the next day

Depending on how thick or cold your diff/trans oil is, put the bottle in a pan with some hot water.
Shake it a couple of times so all the oil gets warm = it will squeeze in much easier.

^ I leave the oil on the driveway and let the sun heat the oil. I do this first while i lay out tools and jack the car up.
