1. Canuckian, just order it from a US vendor, but use US mail NOT UPS unless you want a 40 add on fee. Who knows what sort of can tire crap they are selling you.

2. Right after I change tranny fluids it often feels odd right away. I don't know the chemical reason (if any), but I guess the old fluid just shears down to a lower grade which feels better at startup? (I don't agree about carbon-synchro resaturation.) Give it two weeks. But check the bottle, lots of MT-I out there and god forbid you got dual pump.

 

Followed this DIY and changed my own transmission fluid with no problems. Thanks for the writeup.

Edit after a day: Shifts are noticeably smoother now!

I tried a small hand pump doing a diff change and what a mess. I'm guessing the size of the tubing was a 1/4in and the tubing is slipped over the nipple on the hand pump. The resistance when trying to pump this rather heavy weight lube can (and did in my case) force the tubing off the nipple with the resulting mess. If your going to use a pump, secure the tubing to the nipple using a piece or two of wire and be patient when pumping or perhaps, find a pump with larger diameter tubing to begin with. My next diff change I'm going to use a large rubber bulb syringe. It should be much easier and faster and cleaner than the standard hand pump.

 

Warm the fluid first in the sink. A small clamp could help, but I find that the bulb style trapps fluid in the bulb.
