Default Transmission Fluid Change Pictures

NVMY4N asked me to take some pictures during my transmission fluid change for use in a DIY. Here are the pictures. NVMY4N, if you still want to write the DIY feel free to use any or all of these. If you'd prefer, I don't mind writing it, but I'd feel a little funny about it since this was my first time. Hope I got all the pictures you need!

Nice. This is a good replacement for xviperx DIY.

Why did you change your transmission fluid so early?

Thanks. I'm coming up on 10,000 miles and the transmission was a lot more "clunky" than when it was new. After the change it's back to being super smooth!

Where did you buy the hand pump from?

I have been looking around for one like that but without any luck.

Cheers

I found it at a boating supply store. It's kind of funny because I went to an Advanced Autoparts and asked the guy if they had one and he didn't know what I was talking about. I was thinking "so what do most people do?" and I guess the answer is take it to the dealer! Anyway, after I left that place I remembered reading about someone buying a pump like that at a boat supply store so I stopped by a local one I knew of and picked it up. It was only like $10.

Thanks for the tip. I am curious why a boating store carries it and what they use them for there.

I think its actually made for adding lube to the gearcase in outboard motors.

Speaking of the pump, how do I clean it out now??
