Default trip meter losses miles

hey i have an ap2 and im not sure if ap1 has a trip meter. i keep a record of my weekly mpg. everytime i feel up i would restart my trip meter, and i started noticing that everytime i stop for a very long period of time, more than 4 hours, my meter would lose a mile or more. i was wondering if anyone had this problem?

Here's a hint:

To 'fill up' and 'feel up' are two very different things.

I expect it is a rounding problem.

Being a Japanese car the mileage (for want of a better word) is calculated and stored in kilometers. On USDM cars this is converted to miles for display. I expect when you turn the car off the current value is stored and restored the next time you turn the car on. Due to a difference in rounding of the stored value this number is not always the same.

Either that or someone is joy riding your car in reverse when you are not looking.
