I didn't replace the whole plastic piece. My radiator panel just goes over it. I had to remove the "stifener" for the bumper (the metal part with the 7 screws through it.)

This is what I removed:

This is how the rad panel looks:

Depends on the CAI. As you can see, mine goes behind all that. I believe the spoon snorkel and the J's and Mugen intakes go through there. I do not believe they need removal either, but am not sure.

I took that thing out and it fit fine, but when i tired to close my hood it was stuck. I adjusted the latch up and it would be okay but everytime i did it, since my hood is lop sided, it made it alot worse. Heres a pic of it, you can see the white marks where i rub. Im going to drill some smaller holes so that my screws dont hit the plate. I already swapped out screws for smallers heads but no luck. Hows yours comming along?

That was definetly not an easy piece to remove. I suppose if you felt like taking the front bumper the whole way off it would be easier, but I didn't feel like doing that. I just used a long flathead screwdriver and a lot of paitence to get the plastic clips out from under the upper side of the front bumper. It kinda sucked, but no problems. Good luck!
