I had this issue and actually brought in my car to the shop that installed the alarm. They said a fuse was blown and replaced it. Now my alarm remote + button in the car work. Not sure which fuse though.

Just throwing this out there, might not help you but...

There are two long thin bars that connect to the trunk that provide tension, like a leaf spring to pop up the trunk when it is released.

You might want to inspect those to make sure they are working correctly. They should run into each other when you are closing the trunk.

Easy way to check is to push the button on the key chain and lift up on the trunk with your hand to see if it opens.

Otherwise you might need to look at the release mechanism.

Open the boot...and then click to open the boot...you should hear the mechanism working... if it's to do with that then the leaf spring type actuator that pushes the boot open could be sticking or worn (if poss :s)

If you can't hear the mechanism check a wiring manual (if poss) to track the wiring back. Most likely a fuse, could be a loose connection or a knackered servo mechanism...

not the tension bars. wheni open it with the key the trunk opens with ease and doesnt close on its own. and they do cross in the middle.

i clicked the key button while it was closed and lifted up, still locked.

i opened the lid and clicked the button, didnt hear anything.

i checked the ACC socket fuse but its fine, even replaced it to make sure. or is it another fuse i should look it?

i guess it has to be a wiring problem
