Default Tuning aside from an EMS

Hey I did do some searching but they're is just too much clutter out there...let me get to th meat of this:

I got off the phone with Brian from Berk Technology regarding my HPC Exhaust Manifold that's coming in.....I already have a Berk Test Pipe and Tanabe Medallion Touring Cat-Back...I asked him whether I needed a tune or an EMS in order to run a race manifold and he said no...what I may see is that I will be running rich

According to him I do not need a stand alone unit (such as AEM, K-Pro, etc...)...and that I could just get a piggyback unit and tune the ecu in order to lean it out a little...could someone please enlighten me on this piggyback tune as I am not familiar with it at all...who makes one and what does it involve?? btw that is about as far as I would go, for I do not want to got with a full EMS like the AEM or K-Pro...I do not want a full out tune...just a simple leaner air fuel mixture in order to obtain better gains...according to Brian at Berk Technology gains are 5 hp and 5 ft lb after simple bolt on but the gains jump to between 10 and 15 hp/ft lb when leaning out the air fuel mixture...

thanks in advance for the help...please do not hesistate to post some links (on this forum or of the product websites) that may be helpful in my search...

the VAFC is the cheapest way, but only really affects WOT. that header is a good piece, i gained 5 whp untuned from it!

i don't see how you get the timing right with VAFC.
Where you gained 5 whp at? did you lose any in other area?

No they do not. The 2005 ECU cannot be reflashed.

You're thinking of 2006-2008 S2000s

thats real good,if thats the truth, that header would be better than any aftermarket headers that i've seen in front of my eyes. Personally i would go with the reflash.

Yup, AFAIK, all they have is the K-Pro for the 2000-2005.
