Default Turning check engine light off

I just recently changed my oil when the check engine light came on...I was wondering how do I turn the check engine light off?

You better check why the check engine light came on before turning it off.

Changing oil shouldn't turn it on.

The engine check light went on because I needed an oil change...so when I got it...it still is on...so don't I need to reset the ecu to turn it off?

No, the check engine light did not come on "because you needed an oil change".

There is a light labeled "Check Engine". There is a light labeled "Maintenance Required". These are not the same light.

If it actually was your "check engine" light that came on, you have a problem that is almost certainly unrelated to oil.

"Patience is a virtue."
You posted this in a thread, then only 4 minutes later, you start a new thread asking the same question?
Like these guys said, if it's the CEL, you don't just reset it without knowing why it came on and it doesn't come on just because you needed an oil change.
(I answered you in the other thread.)

This is the check engine light, but it doesn't say "check" in the middle:

The other light is the maintenence light, and actually says "Maint Reqd"

like everyone else said, you shouldn't be getting a check engine light....
check to see why it came on...
to turn it off its in the manual, but you should really get it checked out
