two disturbing sounds after intake and 4.777 install
Sound one:
From the rear when I just start up the car, i.e., when cold. No difference between forward and reverse. Sounds sort of like the diff is farting; it goes away at speed after it's warmed. Just had my diff fluid and clutch fluid changed. Trans oil changed too. Everything very smooth now. Just the sound. The sound started after my 4.777 was installed. Could this be the issue or does it sound independent? Anything to worry about?
Sound two: Knocking sound from my engine bay when idling. It's only happened once but it happened at 3 or 4 stop lights straight. Just had my CAI installed. No rain since.
Please let me know if more description is useful. Thanks very much in advance!

4.777's are an absolutely loonie mod. Granted, cruising over 70 mph would be annoying but quite frankly, I no longer have the desire to. The car is umpteen times more entertaining at lower speeds. breaks traction changing into vtec in 2nd gear.
Today I was in a left turn lane waiting for a slow ass minivan with it's right turn signal on ( coming at me in the opposite lane ) to turn right... there was a pathfinder coming at me from behind who thought I would just turn in front of the minivan... but the minivan wasn't slowing down and went through the intersection with it's signal on. The Pathfinder SLAMMED on the brakes and locked them up.... I revved up as fast as I could and tried to get out of the way and my engine bogged so hard that I had a good second pause before I got out of the pathfinder's way to avoid getting plowed into. Hehe.... I would LOVE to have a shorter first gear.
Speaking of which, is it easy to get the car off the line now in first without dropping the clutch?

check the entire length of tubing of the intake and be sure all bolts are tight, it could be vibrating and making noise.
If you isolated the sound at your rear end/differential, it's possible the gear install went wrong or the diff reinstall into the car went wrong. Go back and check that all bolts invovled with the diff install are snug and tight. If noise still persists, then the gear install went sour, did you install a new LSD unit other than stock?

On the sound from your diff- There could be too much fluid. When you start to drive, the fluid and air gets mixed up and the air escapes through a small hole on the top of the diff. This could be the sound you may be hearing.
