Let's do this mob-rule style. I have a 2003 (AP1) and would like to decide on Mobile 1 or another. I hear a lot of people poo-pooing it.

Been using Royal Purple 10w30

 

There was a complete lab test done by someone on here a few years back. Castrol syntec, mobil 1, valvoline syn, royal purple, redline, etc and the one that came out on top was castrol syntec. That is what ive been using since 1000 miles on the car and been turbo since 3000 miles. The car now has 13500 miles on it and i have never lost a drop of oil or had any problems with it, even pushing 600 whp.

 

castrol syntec...but its not on the list. so by best you mean we just select the one we use and whichever gets the most votes wins the best title ?

 

Amsoil. There is something to be said about a company who does so well they don't need to mass market advertise.

 

Motul 300v or Valvoline

 

use mobil 1 original full synthetic 10w30. so far went about 4300mi and still have oil level at 2 to 3 x's above the low mark. car is an my08 with 12338mi. still have 20% oil life left on the maintenance minder. this was my second oil changes the first was with royal purple with about the same or slightly lower results.
