Been runnin Castrol Syntec for a long time in all my cars, never had a prob till I decided to switch to Mobil in my wifes car, then the motor blew. Probably was a coincedence but it scared me right back to castrol, and now I don't even bother trying other brands anymore.

I voted Redline, but Motul, Lubro Molly, Pentosyn, Rotella T are all better then most of the ones you have up there. Redline for me though.

I like Mobil 1. It may not be the best but I've used it on my other cars and never had engine problems. I think if we want to find out the best type of oil, maybe ask those with 200K miles on their ODO what brand of oil they use. I'm sure all the oils listed if changed out regularly will give you a long lasting engine.

I've heard of issues with Mobil 1 burning in AP1s, I decided on redline after reading the oil journals.

Amsoil ftw!

Burned Mobil 1 bad, 1 quart every 3k. Burned Redline just little, maybe a 1/4 of a quart every 3k. Never burned a drop of Amsoil. All oils were 10w30 and I never changed my driving habits.

To be completely honest, I am not sure this will clear anything up with out facts!! Just my opinion.
I am currently looking for a good oil to put in.... I was going to go with Mobile 1 Synthetic, but it seems most of us s2000 users tend to use Castrol Syntec.

I use Mobil-1 but I think you should use Castrol. Way more than half of any benifit gained from the use of any high quality motor oil will come from the confidence we have it that particular oil. If you kook at it like this, Castrol Edge is the oil you should go with and stay with. Edit - Castrol Syntec
