Default Unknown leak

Hello, recently my S2000 has developed a leak. This is about 2 months after changing out all of the fluids. The transmission case was wet. I check fluid levels regulary. Oil, clutch and brake all look good. I do not notice any leaks when driving or when I leave from work. This is mainly after sitting parked for a long enough time. I brought it to the dealer and was told its the vtec solenoid. They wanted $800 to replace it. I have gaskets on the way to change it anyway but I am skeptical that even if it is leaking, would it be causing this much fluid to be leaking out so far away from the solenoid? If not, any ideas on what else it may be? I plan on getting TCT gaskets as well just do not know if those will cause this much fluid to be leaked. Thank you!

If your vtec solenoid is leaking it will be painfully obvious because you'll have oil all over the engine bay near the vtec solenoid. It can get so bad that you'll see the oil leaking out the top gasket with the engine running. If you're leaking to the point it ends up on the ground that's not good.

Is the fluid motor oil or transmission fluid?

It could absolutely be vtec solenoid. Lets see that area in pictures.

Hope this is clear enough. I can acknowledge there is a leak there it looks a bit wet, I am just unsure if the solenoid would cause much fluid to be on the ground.

I believe it is motor oil, dipstick levels are great though

Check your dragon plug washer and your oil filter to be sure they are tight. It does not look like your VTEC solenoid gasket is leaking.

Let's get the easy stuff out the way before going further.

Both look good. Also, I really appreciate everyone who is pitching in!

Rear main seal? Has the car sat for a long time, prior to firing up? How many miles on your S2000?

"I brought it to the dealer and was told its the vtec solenoid. They wanted $800 to replace it."

Is this correct? $800 to change the $200 solenoid? Must be some very special mechanic doing the fixing.

I said the same thing haha. The main seal looks good and the car sat for maybe 2 weeks and caused the big leak pictured above. It has 155k miles on it

Replaced the solenoid gaskets. Upper gasket was in terrible shape. This is what it looked like after the car sat about 14 hrs after replacing gaskets.
