Default UOA

Hello All,

I had a UOA done on my MY00 with 70,650 miles on it. I think it looked good but just wanted to see if anyone had any other thoughts on the details. I know it only has 3000 miles on the oil but it is not a DD just the weekend toy so I was coming up on a year and decided to change it.

Thanks.
Kevin

.5% fuel in the oil really isn't something to worry about?

I want to get one of these done.

I think it looks great, the oil change interval miles are low but for a one year old sample it looks good as you do pick up some elements as oil sits over time. All of the important wear metals read low which is good, I like to see low iron, lead, copper, plus zero chromium. The oil sheared down a bit into 20 weight category, but ever so slightly, and that is not uncommon with conventional oils in this vehicle, probably a good time to change it IMO, though others might not agree. You have good air filtration going on there with decent silicon numbers, it all looks good. Thanks for posting.

Wear metals look fine.
Next time - if you are going to - ask for a TBN.
That will give you an even better idea how the oil is doing after a year with only 3k miles.
Low TBN = not as good as high TBN.
TBN < 1 is an indication to change oil.

Thanks for posting

Looks barely broken in - you should drive the S harder.

Sorry guys for not posting back sooner.

On the oil and filter. I am an OEM guy.....I use the OEM oil filter and air filter and Valvoline Maxlife 10W/30.

Remember I don't drive it but 3K to 4K per year so I change it more based on time then miles.

How often do you change your oil with that mileage ?. I drive about 3k-4k miles a year on mine, I run 6 months on Amsoil 5w30, and then put in a cheaper oil at end of summmer to hold me over winter storage. I know it's overkill but it's still cheap maintenance and I'd rather not have it sit all winter with used oil. Just my personal preference.
