Updated Banjo Bolts Sprayers?
Hey all I have an AP1 and was going to do the Banjo Bolt upgrade. I have the new bolts but talking to dealer they are now showing an updated sprayer aswell in the catalog of parts? Should I do the sprayers aswell?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I know the new bolts have 4 holes to allow more oil to the sprayer. I just replaced the bolts too.
Here you go for reference:
Thanks ya I have the new bolts. The dealer doesn't think they are different because they have same part #. I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about the new jets they are an updated part now.

You're frankly better off not touching anything, it's a bit of a delicate procedure. Not too long ago someone cracked their block trying to install the new ones. You have to be dead accurate with your torque, because if you're off the oil holes will not line up with the jets. It makes it even trickier because you don't have a straight shot at cylinder 1, and slightly on cylinder 2 unless you go through the trouble of removing the oil pump. I for one do not trust a torque wrench with a wobble/universal joint, any deviation from completely straight will change torque, and add in a poorly calibrated torque wrench and you can do some damage.
*It's only a problem if they were installed improperly from the factory on an AP1, because there's only one jet, and if the hole doesn't line up with the jet there's no oil jet, this is less likely to happen on the two jet, because you have a slightly higher chance of having things "line up".

I've never heard it explained that way, but that makes perfect sense! Thx for the insight into a different thought line on their install (although I'll never upgrade mine because it's been fine for 100k miles under severe use

unless you plan on going forced induction or even doing NA track events with keeping high rpm for long periods of time, if you just plan on enjoying the car and driving it around on the streets and revving it out here and there you are fine leaving the factory banjo bolts in and will be fine.
