upgrade assistance
Hey there,
I'm getting an S2K. It's been along wait, I've wanted one for quite a few years...so finally!! It will have an Neuspeed exhaust system and a voodoo shift nob on the car. What does this do to the HP...add it a bit? What would be the cost for more improvement on HP? I'm not that familiar with these sort of upgrades. Don't want it tooo loud.....don't want to be considered in the rice rocket category.
Thanks for any assistance.

Don't know about the Neuspeed but the Voodoo knob's good for about 20HP.
OK, you know I was just kidding, right? I have both. The Neuspeed will not gain you much, if any, in HP. I got it for the sound and what a great sound it is too. The Voodoo knob shortens the throw of the shifting substantially and I think it makes for a faster and "better" shifting feel.
There is so very little (cheap) that will give this car any decent bumps in HP. A CAI should be near the top on your list. These have documented gains up to low double digit HP gains and can run you from $200.00 to over $500.00. The Injen/AEM type is probably the biggest bang for the buch but requires cutting in the installation. Other stuff would require much more money - rear end gears, supercharger, turbo. Some have stated that the Hondata intake heat gasket is a really good mod for relatively low cost and will give some performance improvements in the form of "heat management". A header may give some gains, depending on the make but might require VAF-C tuning to take full benefit of it.
Of course, don't forget about STICKERS. These are good for unlimited mental HP gains.
