Default V-AFC Mounting Location

I'm about to install the V-AFC into my car and wanted to know if someone else had already done it and if so where did they store it? I have one in my prelude and it hides nicely in a console or glove box. In the stook , i was thinking of double sided sticky tape on the little area where the stretchy thing is when u drop down the center console. This way I can drop it down look/tweak it, and put up the console again. Plus I can lock it (even tho we all know the lock isn't too strong). I am going to use the field-vtec harness and modify it to fit the ECU so I dont have to cut up any stock harnesses for quick dealer-repair visits. Pics would be good or other location ideas as well.

Thanks!

I mounted my V-AFC (w/ velcro) to the door that hides the stereo. It works out pretty well, it's easy to access and if it gets in the way, I can just pull it off and stick it under the drivers seat.

That's where I was going to put it if I get one. I'd install it right into the door itself.

Is the V-AFC's instructions clear cut to what wires to tap into on the car's ECU?

Thanks,

I am also interested in where you are getting the Fields harness from? Also, what is involved in modifing the harness?

I don't know if the harnesses are still expensive. But when I had the Field unit, they were going for no less than $150. That's almost as much as the unit itself. Splicing the wires isn't that bad. If your selling the car or having it maintained...just hide the unit and turn it off. Easy as that.

BTW, i've taken my Prelude in with the VTEC unit mounted right on the steering column many times. No one hassled me.
