Default V tec is not engaging at all

I have an 01 S2000. The V Tec stopped engaging today. I checked the connections, and made sure that my oil level was good. The oil was a little low so I added a little, maybe 1/4 quart. When I took it for a spin it engaged at first, but then stoped. It will not engage at all now. Has anyone had this problem or know any other reasons that the v tec would not engage?

the oil level is right below the H, you think i should add a little more? I guess that makes sense because after I added a little it engaged for a short period of time. Do you know any other reasons for it not engaging?

If the oil level is between the lines, then oil is not your problem. There is a test procedure in the helms. I would check all your connections, especially the solenoid and oil pressure switch fittings,

Make sure to check the oil level again when the engine is cold (after it has sat all night).

The only time I have had this happen is when the VTEC solenoid went bad. See if you can swap with someone and see if it still doesnt engage. Oil is not your problem in my opinion. It needs to be pretty low to keep VTEC from engaging.

check your wiring to the solenoid, take apart the solenoid to clean it and make sure the metal filter is clean. (not with water)
check oil levels and then test drive.
