All you have to do is tap or splice additional wires located on the original vafc harness. I am sure there is nothing more to it than doing that. The vafc harness is an extension of the OEM wiring harness it just prevents you from hacking into the OEM harness and voiding you warranty by a suspicious Honda dealer.

Just the I. It's mounted in the radio door.

The Plug and Play adaptor made by Jaker and others is simply a set of plugs and sockets wired through. It gives you access to all the same wires as the loom in the car without cutting up your car. If you have this harness and bought a V-AFC II it would be a simple matter of wiring the same wires in and then adding any extra ones such as the knock sensor or whatever.

For me, the II would be nice, but no great shakes over the I. It's slimmer so it'll stick out of the radio door less, and the US one is black but hey, none of thatmakes my car any faster. I pulled my previous VAFC apart and sprayed the silver bit black. Looked great on the radio door. I'll probably do the same with this one.

How was this accomplished? I think this is where I'd put it if I got one down the road

The extra wires are for the VTC and TDC monitor -- used only for i-vtec cars. You can use the V-AFC I harness. That's what I used for the install.

Does the documentation or publication state that it supports I-VTEC? From what I read, it explicitly says "VTEC". Are you sure the extra wires aren't for the knock detection?

Anyway you'd be willing to scan those manuals for me? Mine's in Jap and A'PEXi doesn't have them electronic yet. If you haven't installed it yet, here's the pinout for it, the H-6a one that's in the manual is wrong:

I also have a thread going in the electronics forum. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...threadid=143240
