Default VAFC Harness Question

Has anyone used a VAFC plug in harness to install a Comptech ESM or the Vortech timing box? I have read both install manual wiring directions. But I am no fan of cutting the stock wiring harness or using displacement type splice connectors. Anyone got any ideas?

No, but I used one to wire up to my eManage. It would work fine for what you're wanting to do, I believe.

the vafc harness is just an extension of the OEM harness, if the OEM harness is spliced per the directions of vortech(example) then the vafc and harness will work together just like the way they do when the car is NA.

or you could just splice the harness wires per instructions. Just find the correct pin per instructions on the right pin connector, ie 25 pin, 31 pin or 32 pin. why, cause the wires on the harness are all the same color except the corresponding wires that are spliced into the vafc.

I will be plugging my vafc and harness back in tonight to see if this is true or not.

the only concern I have is, will the vafc see boost? if it does then it doesn't work.

DON"T CUT IT!!!

just cut/splice/tap the oem wiring harness just like the vortech manual says to do. The harness will plug N play just as it is designed.

if you do decided to splice the harness you will still have to splice the oem harness MAP 17 wire, this will still have to be done the way the vortech manual says. Reason? to keep the vafc from seeing boost, if the vafc see's boost then the ECU will also. The map controller needs to be spliced in on the oem harness, so that boost pressure is blocked before hitting the vafc via the harness.

I hope this helps. I just got back from running my car for an hour and no CEL and NO boost was seen by the VAFC or ECU. All I did was plug the vafc + harness back in the way it was designed to begin with!
