Bought a VAFC harness from Jaker and tried to install the VAFC today. Color matched the wires and when I turned the key to the on position the alternator fuse blows out. Any suggestions? Everything seems to be fine with the harness. Another thing is that the unit doesn't turn on.

 

Sounds like you have a bum harness.

 

or a bum V-AFC.

 

unplug the V-AFC from the harness but leave harness installed, turn key on, if fuse still blows, it confirms you got a bad harness, if the fuse doesn't blow, it doesn't really doesn't prove anything ....... give it a try.
