Default VAFC RPM lead???

ive just installed my VAFC and it seems to be OK except for the RPMs are quite a bit diffrent from what is being shown on my tach. when im running 1000RPMs on the tach the VFAC says im doing around 500-600 and when im at 7000RPMs the VFAC says im doing 4800... i dont have a Helm manual (just a bit of help from a fellow member ) and am wondering if ive got the lead that senses the RPM hooked up to the wrong thing or perhaps i just havent adjusted something properly. any help would be appreciated!!

And definitely insufficiently appreciative of all the advice you got, including the bit about, "reading the VAFC instructions for setting up the unit,"...

No worries, I'll take a foam-check. Glad it worked out. Do pay attention to ALL of the setup instructions, as the number of cylinders is only one of several variables you need to set.
