Valentine 1 Hardware Install Help.

After completing everything from this site in like 10 minutes I hit a little bump...
My valentine came with the power connector that crimps in to any power wire... but what is a good wire to plug it in to? That is the dilemma.
The dash is such mess underneath because of who ever installed my alarm. What scares me is biting/crimping in to the wrong wire. I don't know which one is which. ARGH

I think you are misreading the directions. You don't need to tap or cut any wires. Just crimp a spade connector onto your power wire for the V1. Then, plug the spade connector onto the switched 12v socket on the fuse box.
If the socket is already taken then as AstroPhsx said, you can buy an "add a fuse" and that will solve that issue. You are at the 99% mark, all you need to do is plug it in.

i just did mine recently. i cut off the connector at the end of the hardwire that came with the detector as it was the incorrect size (a little too big) and a male connector. went to kragen and bought a slightly smaller one and a female connector. cut off the male connector, strip a piece of the plastic away, insert the wire into the female connector, crimp the new female connector on and then plug it into that slot shown in the pic above.
tuck and clean up the wires. Should be good to go. takes no more than 5 mins to do that whole process.
i was going to do the "add a fuse" method, but i found a connector that plugs right into that 3rd slot in the pic above. it's only powered when the ignition is turned on. adding it into the fuse section requires you to plug it into a slot that is only given power when the ignition is turned on (assuming you only want your detector turned on with the ignition). if you were to tap it into something like the interior light fuse, it'd be powered everytime you unlock/lock your doors and your interior lights come on.
imo, it's easier to go with the swapping male for female connector and plugging it straight into the 3rd slot.
