Default Valve Noise

Although not mine, it sounds like this:

I'm currently at 18,000 miles on a 2007. I've done some searching and it seems like I need a valve adjustment. I found the DIY and will be trying this shortly.

However, I may have had a mechanical over-rev last week from shifting into second doing roughly 60mph. I haven't noticed a loss of power, but then again I haven't had the car long enough to really notice a difference. I say may have because I don't remember seeing the tach flash, but I wasn't exactly looking at it.

Could the over-rev cause this noise?
Thanks for the help.

if you dropped to 2nd going 60... maybe
how long did you leave it?
was it a qwick SHIT! and pull it out 1-2 secs
or a wtf?!?! then pull it out, 3-4 secs??

if it was like 2 secs i dont think it should be over-rev. its a ap2

but i would go ahead and get a valve adjustment and if that doesnt work \:
sorry i think its over-rev, your valves might have took some damage

i did it to my gsr integra but i got valve adjustment on it and and it
took away all the vibrations/noise

I really don't remember how long it took me to get the clutch in :/
However, I just did the compression test and got between 245-255 on all 4 cylinders.
Any opinions on whether or not a leak down test is necessary? I don't have the equipment is the only reason I ask.

if the numbers are 245-255 i dont think your valves got damaged but im not too sure \:

go ahead and get a valve adjustment, cost about 200 at honda dealership with new gaskets
i think your slight over rev messed up the valves placement

i know that the gsr's when over reved the valves move in order to prevent damage,
im not too sure about s2k's... this is my first one D:
