Default Which valve retainers do I order?

Recently picked up a 2002 S2k with 64000 miles. Everyone recommends having the valve retainers replaced with ap2 retainers. Which should I order (brand etc...) there seem to be a lot of different types out there and I'm not sure which is correct???

Thanks!

^ this. sort of. it has been argued that ap2 retainers on ap1 exhaust valves isn't an ideal situation. you should mix and match ap1 exhaust retainers/keepers with ap2 intake retainers/keepers. I know hardtop guy will mix and match a set for you if you specify in the "special instructions" section of the checkout.

You'll get different opinions. The new retainer weights 2 grams more so it lowers your safety margin for valve float (in theory). The AP2s in other countries with the F20C came with the new retainers on both sides, not just the intake. Lots of people only upgraded the intake because the exhuast doesn't crack as often, but people have indeed had them crack. Up to you and what you're comfortable with.

I replaced all my retainers with AP2 retainers. None of my AP1 retainers had cracks so I could have left it alone and perhaps should have to save $ but it was peace of mind for me. Had a valve adjustment done at the same time and the car runs a little better now.
