Because of the complexity involved with the install I have push the date forward to Thursday....

The valve clearances will be set when everything is installed. They should be set on the high end of the spec, since the clearance will shrink as the valves seat. You may want to check / adjust the clearances several times until they quit changing. Valve clearance inspection will be a critical part of maintenance going forward with aggressive cams. The stiffer springs will wear the valve seats faster than stock.

with the $250-300 snap on tool, you can change the springs without pulling the head. I would buy that tool for your shop rather than pulling the head. That's if they've done spring swaps before without pulling the head.

Huh... I'll see if I can get it...... thanks Vaporssk..... On the other hand.....If I don't get the snap on tool I can also get them to check I #4 cylinder.....Check for scoring....Hopefully this will end my nightmares.....

I have been pricing the job of R&R the head. Most places want $700 or more. The gasket set alone is approaching $200. Buy the shop the tool and ask for some credit for it.

They are charging me $550 including parts and labor .....I will ask them tomorrow which they prefer..
