Default Very Unique hesitation in MY03

Had my S for a year and a half now and runs great until now. I notice that at WOT when approaching 8k there is some hesitation as it is struggling to get to redline. Like everything is fine in 1st... I shift to 2nd and barely notice it. I get into 3rd and you can tell very easily and so forth. I already replaced the MAP sensor with another one from Honda. Still no clue WTF is going on and its getting to my nerves. Shoudl I reset the ECU or something? I seriously treat this car well changing all the fluids sometimes before intervals. Please help me!

have you looked at an ap1 dyno? the power peaks and falls at 8500 or 8700 or something like that. is that what you mean? if so, its normal.

Does your MAP sensor have the zip-tie per Honda TSB:
04-073 (S2000) Intermittent Hesitation During Hard Acceleration?

Yes I have the new map sensor and zip tie installed and it still hesitates around past the 8,000 range.

Yes, the power drops off to some degree at 8,300 rpm's, but not at such a degree that will cause a hesitation. My car does not hesitate at all up to redline.

Not to long ago there was a post like this one and that turned out to be low oil level. Worth checking?
Good luck

I change the oil every 2500 miles. I checked the oil and its not even light brown yet. I also noticed that when I get high up in the rpm range it does backfire slightly. Today I took one of the spark plugs out and it was really brown and had tiny little cracks around the electrode. Do you guys think this might be the problem? If so which kind of spark plugs should I get? Denso Iridiums?

I wouldn't reinstall those spark plugs. I'm not assuming you did, I'm just saying don't. Unless your forced induction or something I would stick with the OEM NGK PFR7G-11S Honda part# 98079-571BH. I think denso makes an OEM plug too, but I don't have a part# handy.
