Default vibrations on 02 Sk2

Hey guys

im working on a 2002 S2k, car has a vibration under acceleration only, and when making turns. From what I gather, the inner CV joints are a common problem. Im wondering, when the car is on the rack, is there anything that i can see visually. I am able to move the axle in and out of the diff, and up and down slightly also. Maybe 2-3mm of play? Is this the typical sign of worn inner CV joints? Another shop diagnosed the problem as a bad transmission, then i test drove it and didnt seem like the trans at all. I was thinking bad Diff or axles. thanks, any help or opinions appreciated.

Taking the Inner CV joints apart is the only foolproof way to inspect the inner CV housings.
