Default Vibrations?!

Hey how is going everyone i am pretty new to this forum and was wondering what you guys think about my little issue here.....

Modifications on my car: 01 S2000, 85k miles, Coilovers, Breaks, Tires.

Ok so i am getting a strong vibration from either the front of the car or the rear and i cant quite tell, this only happens under acceleration when I hit about 40+ mph and is a lot stronger when my steering wheel is slightly turned to the left under acceleration. When the wheel is slightly turned to the right under acceleration there is no vibrations

what do you guys think? Thanks.

couple different things can happen, there could be the balance of the wheels issue, the alignment issue, the im so low that the driveshafts need spacers, and probably a few other things.

how much did you lower your car? i'm guessing a fair bit if it's coilovers?

Did you have your tires balanced? could be the driveshaft problem as stated by squirtle.... Basically tell us more about what you have done to the car and all the bits you have put on...

have you had it aligned since coilovers were added??

Could be pitted cv joints. You may need new axles.

if your car had fairly high mileage before it was lowered, then yes the cv joints could be pitted; when you lower it (with high mileage and pitted joints) it causes the rubbing in a slightly different location, and causes vibration at some speeds.

I purchased the car bone stock with 70k and it ran perfect, then after 2 months i lowered the car with Tein S-techs, installed an NRG engine torque damper w/puddymod. the car still ran fine.

Then threw on some ap2 V1 wheels, then got the car aligned at Discount Tire, I started feeling vibrations after that alignment, I thought maybe it was the wheels causing the shakes so I took off the V1's and put back on my stock AP1 wheels and the vibrations was still there.

I then had the AP1 wheels balanced and still the vibrations where there, none of the rims are bent either. I then un-installed the ETD and that didn't change anything. Shortly after I purchased coil overs and now have about a 1 finger gap all the way around, the car was once again aligned this time at WEST END in Gardena and Corner Balanced. that didn't make the vibrations go away either, I now have Azenis Rt-615 in the rear and again had the wheels balanced and the vibrations remain.....

Im thinking inner CV joint housing? driveshaft? wheel hub bearing?

Thanks everyone.

You have the classic symptoms of CV pitting.

You have 2 reasonably priced options:

1) Swap the CV buckets from driver's to passenger side and vis versa. This costs time and requires some mechanical skill (if you installed your own coilovers you can probably tackle it).

2) Install 2-piece half shaft spacers. They'll cost $150-200 There are also 1-piece spacers that are cheaper, but they take nearly as much time to install as it would to swap the CV buckets...and that is free.
