I just had the spark plug TSB done and had the plugs gapped down to .030 and I am betting the leak at the spark plug was the reason for the check light. The S/C just amplified the problem. I will keep you posted as to my chk light issues. I did notice even more power with the plugs gaped this low. This kit just keeps on getting stronger.

I guess Ill know friday just how strong it is.

Just wanted to point this out to prevent it from happening to others.

The flexihose between the K&N airfilter and the supercharger was rubbing against a fin on my radiator fan. I noticed it in time before it wore a hole in the flexihose and cut down the plastic fin on the fan with a knife.

However, the Vortech units has problems yet to be determined. Mine causes the engine light to go about every 48 hours. When the engine light comes on, the engine shuts down to 3,000 RPM. There appear to be electronic controller box issues and the engine is not accepting this unit well. As a matter of fact, I'm so pissed off, I'd like to have the unit taken out of my car. I have almost $6,000 in it.
I commend you for your honestly and well ........... bravery for stepping up and telling us this. I wonder if, in all the initial excitement, if anyone would have said anything had the question never been asked. It's great to think this car could do high 12s all day but it's not so good to have to come home each night and bang your head against the wall wondering, "What the heck is wrong with this thing now?"
To think that last week I was almost prepared to drop over 7 LARGE (Can.). I think I'll just sit back and observe for a while now and see what else trickles down to the masses.

Are the pullies on the Vortech the same or similar to the Comptech pullies? How many inches are the pullies? Can you see where this is leading?......................

xviper,

I am reading and sitting with you also. My money is staying in my pocket until uncertainties are a certain.

I gapped them at .030 because that is what everyone was recommending. It has made a huge difference in the way the car feels. Im not sure why this is but I guess even at .039 where I had mine gapped to the spark was still getting blown out.

I am going to try and get a VAFC hooked up, tuned, and dynoed before I hit the Quater mile strip on Friday. I dont know if I will pull all that off but im gonna try.

Stay tuned to the other long thread for all the results.
