Can somebody with a Vortech setup explain what the timing box is that is installed with the Vortech kit? Is that the only electronics installed?

I am just wondering how it is different from the signal modifier that Comptech uses to hide boost.

I do not. I have a Comptech SC. I am trying to figure out the difference in the approach both companies took.

well the comptech is just the supercharger and the vortech is the supercharger and an aftercooler where water flows throw it and cools in the frount bumper the after cooler takes out about 100+dergees out of the aircolder boost = faster car as far as the timing goes the timing is kinda weardwith the comptech system its got a map thing with it and thats it the vortech has a timing system where the black box sences boost and takes out timing as the boost bulds the vortech systm is better becasue it has colder boost and more boost i hope this helps sorry about the way its put kinda in a rush hehe jason kasten

The Comptech ESM masks boost by modifying the signal from the MAP sensor. What does the Vortech unit do to accomplish this? The Vortech black box then must have a mechanical component to it to sense boost or is it pulling off the MAP signal? What else does the Vortech black box factor into the timing to take out?

I guess what I am getting at is what the effect of not using the Comptech ESM and using the Vortech black box would be (provided the Comptech was blowing colder air too).

there is two parts one is a little black box that is for the map signal there is a timing box that comes with the system the black box is only with the timing

OK...I see now. So, the question remains....what would one of these do on a Comptech SC'd car?
